Michelle Turner
Director of Institutional Advancement

 

Michelle is a passionate storyteller committed to shaping the world of international education through sharing authentic narratives. With global experiences as the foundation of her work, she strives to foster inclusion and belonging with a critical look at the role language plays in international settings. Michelle excels at developing impactful marketing strategies and leading successful projects. She loves to share her expertise through professional speaking engagements at conferences worldwide, crafting engaging content and delivering captivating visual programs on various topics spanning marketing, communications, brand management, and alumni initiatives.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Katy Maguire Lushman
Associate Director of Institutional Advancement

 

Katy Maguire Lushman returned to Leysin American School in 2021 and is now the Associate Director of Institutional Advancement. With bachelor's and master's degrees in music, she began her career as an educator and was a music teacher for fifteen years (including two years at LAS from 2008-2010). Katy brings with her a wide breadth of experience in the education and arts sectors, with diverse roles on three continents in academia, non-profit, consulting, entrepreneurship, and as a speaker on innovation and inclusivity. Outside of the office, Katy spends her time crafting culinary creations, cycling up all the nearby Alpine passes with her husband, and practicing agility with her dog, Sky.

 

 

 


Mickey Maure

 

Mickey Maure is a Mexican-French professional with a rich international background. Raised in Mexico City, she attended boarding school in Czechia before returning to Mexico to complete a bachelor’s degree in visual arts. While studying, she taught English and French locally and spent summers working at the LAS Summer Program, where she fell in love with Leysin and the school's community. This experience inspired her to join LAS full-time in Alumni Relations and Advancement after finishing her degree. Passionate about language learning, art, and culture, Mickey enjoys exploring museums and galleries, and in her free time, she loves skiing and being outdoors.

 

 

 

 


Caroline Bunge

 

Caroline Bunge joined the Alumni Relations and Advancement team in November 2023 as a Marketing and Communications Associate. Caroline is an Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker, and you will always see her out and about on the LAS campus with a camera in her hand. With over ten years of video editing and production experience, Caroline's creativity brings the stories of Leysin American School to life, and she loves being an active member of our community.  Whether in film or print, Caroline has an all-around passion for storytelling, as she aims to read over 48 books this year!

 

 

 


Anita Dore

 

Anita Dore, a New York State native, has an extensive background in art direction, graphic design, photography, and illustration. She has held diverse creative roles in a variety of industries, including outdoor products, luxury home goods, international education, and craft foods and beverages. Recently, Anita ran her own visual design business, where LAS was one of her favorite clients. Now, she’s excited to join LAS full-time, photographing campus life and creating graphics and illustrations for the Advancement team. In her free time, Anita enjoys hiking, painting, skiing, photography, gardening, traveling, marveling at nature, and training her cat to walk on a leash.

 

 


Alexander Demishin

 

Alexander (Sasha) Demishin joined the Advancement Team this year. He is originally from Russia but has spent the past 12 years in Switzerland, graduating from boarding school before pursuing a degree in Hospitality at École hôtelière de Lausanne. Sasha has worked in educational advancement for four years and is based in the Alumni Office at the Savoy campus. Sasha always enjoys meeting the LAS Global Family, whether online or on campus! Sasha is a keen skier and is the lead organizer of the Alumni Ski Weekend.
