Skiing and Snowboarding in the Swiss Alps

One of the best ways to appreciate the grandeur of LAS’s alpine location is through our ski program. Leysin is a well-recognized ski resort with over 60 kilometers of pistes to discover. Students are given the opportunity to acquaint themselves with our mountain both through a ski program that runs throughout the winter semester, and through our competitive ski team. Whether skiing recreationally or competitively, however, our ski programs both allow students to learn a new skill and experience the very best of Switzerland’s alpine environment.

Students who participate in the winter ski program get to ski or snowboard after lunch every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as enjoy regular trips to world-class resorts such as Zermatt, Verbier, Saas-Fee.

Whether students are new to skiing or seasoned pros, we also work with the local ski school to ensure they learn proper techniques so they are consistently improving and able to enjoy their time on the mountain to the fullest.

Students who are passionate about skiing and snowboarding can participate competitively in our ski racing team or our freestyle program. The LAS ski team has helped some world-class skiers develop.  In 2021, an LAS student competed at the FIS World Championship in Cortina, Italy!

The LAS ski team engages new and experienced skiers to set high goals and achieve their personal best. Through this structured sports program, our athletes learn the value of hard work, perseverance, and teamwork. With competitions all around Switzerland, joining the ski team is a great way for students to travel around the country, meet new people, and achieve their goals.
