Zimbabwe Auction

For Sethule Orphans Trust in Zimbabwe

This week we held our highly anticipated auction to raise money for Sethule Orphans Trust in Zimbabwe, an organization founded by one of LAS’s nurses. This annual event is something students and staff look forward to each year and serves as a reminder of the role and responsibility each of us shares in making the world a better place. Several of our students and staff will be travelling to Zimbabwe over Spring Break to volunteer at the orphanage and learn a little more about the local culture.

For the auction, we asked our faculty members to donate items, food, and services for students to bid on. Staff members offered baked goods, homework passes, laundry services, the opportunity for students to shave their head, and more! We are pleased to announce that with the help of our generous students and staff we were able to raise over 16,000 CHF! (WOW)

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards the building materials and supplies needed for the projects our students will undertake during their service trip. Please check out www.sethuletrust.org if you'd like to find out more about this organization!
