University Advising Fair + Workshops this Week
On Wednesday, LAS University Advisors escorted over fifty 11th and 12th grade LAS students to the Council of International Schools (CIS) first in-person university fair since before the Covid pandemic.
Held at the International School of Geneva, the fair provides highly valued opportunities for students to meet and learn from admission representatives in the global network of CIS member universities. Specifically, this fair seeks to pair students committed to global citizenship with best-fit universities. Approximately 100 universities from 11 countries attended the year's university fair, exposing LAS students an incredible array of schools from across the globe. View the full list of attending universities here.
Additionally, many of these universities visited LAS this week, including for a college essay-writing workshop. We welcomed admissions representatives from Fordham University, Syracuse University, Suffolk University, and Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus, American University, Kenyon College, SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern for in-person visits; Chapman University, Lynn University, Northwestern University-Qatar, New York University-Abu Dhabi, Rollins College, Sewanee-The University of the South, Santa Clara University, and University of Tampa presented to LAS students virtually. On Wednesday, Northeastern University and University of Rochester led LAS students in a US-specific essay-writing workshop to help them prepare their applications to the upcoming deadlines.
