Traveling to LAS: Your Upcoming Journey to the Swiss Alps!

The countdown has begun! Soon you'll be making your way to LAS, nestled high on our magical mountain in the heart of the Swiss Alps! Whether you're a returning student or joining our community for the first time, we’re beyond excited to welcome you. A year of unforgettable experiences, amazing memories, and new friendships awaits!

While the journey to LAS is smooth for most, a little preparation can make all the difference. Here’s everything you need to know to arrive safely, confidently, and ready to begin your LAS adventure.

Before You Travel

  • Submit Your Flight Info: Parents, ensure your child’s flight details are submitted via Orah as soon as possible. This helps us coordinate arrivals and ensure a warm LAS welcome.
  • Photograph Your Luggage: Snap a quick photo of each of your checked bags. If anything goes missing, this will help airport staff track it down.
  • Pack Smart: Always bring a change of clothes and a toothbrush in your carry-on—just in case your luggage is delayed.

Stay Connected

  • New Students: Please ensure your phone works in Switzerland on arrival. You’ll need it in case you need to reach the Administrator On Call (AOC).
  • Returning Students: Don’t forget your LAS SIM card! Also, bring the SIM pin or tool needed to insert it into your phone.

Luggage Tips

  • Keep an Eye on Your Bags: You’re responsible for your luggage at all times—stay alert and don’t leave it unattended.
  • If Your Bag Is DELAYED: You must wait for it. No one else can claim it on your behalf.
  • If Your Bag Is LOST: File a lost baggage report before leaving the baggage area. Don’t exit until you’ve completed this step.

Snack & Hydration Tips

The journey from GVA to LAS takes around 2 hours by bus. Make sure to:

  • Bring snacks in your carry-on
  • Carry a reusable water bottle
  • Have some Swiss francs or a debit card in case you need to buy food or drinks along the way
