Here at LAS, we encourage all our students to read a wide range of books. Reading has been proven to boost language and written skills and improve focus, memory, and mental health. So as we begin the new year, our wonderful LAS library team has created a fun activity—The 24 in 2024 Reading Challenge!
The challenge encourages students to read 24 books this calendar year. This may feel daunting but it is definitely achievable for anyone with a desire to read more! With such an extensive and varied range of books to borrow from the library, our students definitely won't struggle for choice. Whether they want to read action-packed fiction, informative non-fiction, or books in a variety of languages, there are options in our library!
Participating is easy!
1. Grab a Poster
Head over to the library and grab a 24 in 24 Reading Challenge poster. Whether you're hanging it in your dorm room, classroom, or office space, your poster lets everyone know how you’re doing in this challenge!
2. Read and Log 24 Books
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to read and log 24 books throughout the year. From gripping novels to insightful non-fiction, let your reading list reflect a diverse range of books! To help you keep track of your literary achievements, don't forget to use the provided reading log.
3. Win Awesome Prizes
By completing the challenge, you can win some great LAS swag from the marketing team! Aside from the prizes, you'll also learn a lot and improve your academics and essay-writing skills by expanding your vocabulary!
Are you ready to take on this challenge? Let the pages turn, and the adventure begin! Happy reading, everyone!
