A Capella Group

The Brown Derbies

The Brown Derbies are an a cappella group at Brown University founded by Darryl Shrock in 1982. The Derbies have established a renowned international, domestic, and on-campus presence since its founding, releasing fourteen studio albums. They sing a variety of different genres, ranging from Rock, to Pop, to R&B and are known in the a cappella community for their energetic performances combined with their unique use of syllables in their background vocals. LAS was lucky enough to have The Brown Derrbies visit and perform for the second time this past January 2020. Our staff and students enjoyed an outstanding performance that left us all amazed by their talent. Thanks for yet another incredible visit guys!

Leysin American School

For almost 60 years, we have nurtured the talent of our students, motivating them to reach their highest potential in education, sports, and the arts. Our success stems from the vision of founders Fred and Sigrid Ott—to create an international high school in a secure, inspiring location, where young people can reach their goals and become true “citizens of the world.”
