The Senior Class Gift: Supporting the LAS Journey

Each year, the graduating class at Leysin American School comes together to decide on their Senior Class Gift—a fundraising initiative that reflects their shared values, experiences, and hopes for future students. This tradition offers our G12 students the opportunity to leave a meaningful and lasting impact on the school community that has shaped their lives.

The process begins with conversations among students about the causes and initiatives that matter most to them. Through discussion, reflection, and a collective vote, the class chooses a project that represents their experience at LAS and the legacy they wish to leave behind. It is a thoughtful and student-led process—one rooted in gratitude and a desire to give back. This year’s graduating students are coming together to celebrate their own journey and invest in the journeys of those who will follow.

The Class of 2026 chose to fund scholarship support, ensuring that future full scholarship students can experience everything LAS has to offer. While tuition scholarships make an LAS education possible, scholarship support makes the LAS experience complete—providing access to additional outdoor activities, weekend trips, leadership and academic conferences, and other impactful experiences beyond what is covered by tuition.

Having benefited firsthand from the unique blend of academic challenge, global perspective, and experiential learning at LAS, the Class of 2026 recognized that some of the most transformative moments happen outside traditional academics. Their gift reflects a belief that regardless of financial circumstances, every student should have the opportunity to participate fully, explore their passions, and create wonderfully rich, lifelong memories!

The Senior Gift is more than a fundraising effort, it’s a powerful expression of community, and for many of our students it marks the beginning of their own philanthropic efforts that they will continue long after leaving LAS. Through this gift, the Class of 2026 leaves behind a legacy defined by the generosity and sense of community that makes LAS such a special place.
