LAS Students Excel in the 2025 CEMC Senior Mathematics Competition!

Our students truly knocked it out of the park in the 2025 CEMC Senior Mathematics Competition! All ten participants achieved impressively high scores, with three students earning over 35 points and receiving Certificates of Distinction. This outstanding result is a testament to their dedication, talent, and hard work.

Hosted online by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing at the University of Waterloo in Canada, the competition features a mix of short-answer and full-solution questions designed to foster creative problem solving, critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to make connections across mathematics and computing. It also provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves academically while competing against peers from around the world.

The CEMC Senior Mathematics Competition is a highly regarded international event, with students vying for top scores on a demanding 60-point exam. Our students prepared diligently for months, and it’s wonderful to see their commitment and perseverance pay off so successfully. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.

We congratulate Antonio ’26, Evan ’27, Hayato ’26, Isis ’26, Jiyou ’26, Natalia ’27, Pragya ’27, Sara ’27, Valeriu ’27, and Yubi ’26 for taking part in this challenging competition. A special congratulations goes to Sara, Pragya, and Hayato for earning Certificates of Distinction, with Sara achieving the highest score among the LAS students.

As we celebrate our students’ success, we also extend our sincere thanks to the teachers whose guidance, commitment, and support played a crucial role in preparing them for this competition.

Building on the strong academic foundations developed in the classroom, these students also demonstrated exceptional discipline by dedicating their own time to studying and preparation. Their efforts made this a wonderful achievement for everyone involved!
