Reunited on the Slopes: Highlights from the LAS Alumni Ski Weekend

In early February, LAS alumni from around the world returned to Leysin for one of the most anticipated events of the year—the Alumni Ski Weekend! With fresh snow on the slopes, it was fantastic to be reunited with alumni from so many different generations! For many of them, it was the first time they had been back to Leysin since they graduated, and it was amazing having the opportunity to share stories, reminisce with friends, and ski on the slopes again! 

The festivities began on Friday evening with a welcome apéro at the Pyrolle, hosted by Doris, Steven, and Marc Ott. This gathering was a great way to start this unforgettable weekend! Alumni reconnected over drinks, shared stories of their time at LAS, and caught up on life’s latest adventures! 

Saturday was the day that alumni hit the slopes! The day started with a coffee meetup at Horizonte Café, where old friends reunited and new connections were made over cups of coffee. Alumni spent the afternoon skiing together, recreating their days on Leysin’s fantastic pistes. So many of them said afterward that they loved being back at the place they have so many fond memories, and it felt like coming home! 

As the sun began to set, alumni gathered for the torchlight descent. Lighting the mountainside with torches, the group made their way down the runs together. The descent was a fantastic way to mark how special the weekend was, and it was great to unite everyone together. This event was followed by a delicious dinner at La Fromagerie, where alumni ate Swiss specialties and continued late into the evening.

On Sunday morning, the weekend wrapped up with a farewell breakfast at the Croissanterie. Alumni reflected on the highlights of the weekend and said they can’t wait to return for future reunions. It was the perfect way to conclude a weekend filled with skiing and reconnecting with the Global Family! 

The second annual Alumni Ski Weekend proved that the LAS Global Family has a strong connection, no matter where they are around the world! We were so pleased to provide an opportunity for alumni to return to their home on Magic Mountain and reconnect with old friends. We can’t wait for next year!
