Our Global Family’s Spirit of Philanthropy

LAS has a long history of transformative philanthropy. Last year, more donors than ever gave to LAS and we are so grateful for the continued support of our Global Family. Here at LAS, we are committed to developing innovative, compassionate, and responsible citizens of the world. This support ensures we provide the opportunity of a LAS education to students from all over the globe.

All non-restricted funds that are raised at LAS go into our Impact Fund, which in turn funds projects that deliver immediate impact within our student community. Three times per year faculty and staff are invited to submit funding proposals for projects that are centered on students, and a committee composed of members from across the school meet to decide how to disburse the funds. In the most recent round of Impact Fund disbursements, the committee received 11 applications from members of our community for student-centered projects. Each of these projects received 50% or more funding, with six projects receiving complete funding! These projects include:

  • Beau Site Valley View Room renovations
  • Equipment for the MMAC and Café 7
  • CAS project help to support an orphanage in Kenya
  • Classroom simulation activities
  • Esports activity equipment
  • Books to start a design library
  • Health Center improvements

All of this is made possible by our incredibly generous Global Family donors. Thank you for your continued support and philanthropy; you really are changing lives. This year alone we have invested CHF 40,000 directly back into the school community through the Impact Fund, and because of your support we are now able to provide the largest scholarship program in our history. Thank you for helping our students to become the best version of themselves.

Over the last year, 25 project applications have been considered, with the vast majority being partially or fully funded, and three have become special initiative projects that have been elevated for additional funding. The Impact Fund will disburse funds again early in the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year. If you would like to show your support by donating to the Impact Fund, you can do so here.

We are incredibly proud of the Spirit of Philanthropy of our Global Family, and we would like to thank everyone who has donated to our Impact Fund this year. With your continued support, we are able to give our students the most enriching experience possible here on our Magic Mountain.
