As we wrap up an eventful semester, it's time to look at what next semester has in store for LAS students! From exhilarating outdoor adventures to cultural trips, artistic showcases, and service opportunities, the upcoming months are packed with activities that will develop and challenge our students, creating lifelong memories along the way. Here's a preview of what students can look forward to!
Winter Wonderland in Leysin
The snow-covered slopes of Leysin will once again be the perfect setting for students looking to ski, snowboard, and explore the winter wonderland that surrounds our campus. Whether you're an experienced skier or putting on your boots for the first time, our extracurricular programs and the Alpine Institute offer opportunities for everyone to enjoy winter sports. Snowshoeing, sledding, and exploring the stunning Alpine scenery will also be on offer for students wanting a different kind of adventure.
Tobogganing Park Adventures
Next semester, students can enjoy evenings at the Leysin Tobogganing Park—an LAS favorite! This experience combines fun, speed, and challenge as students race down icy tracks under the stars. It's a perfect way to experience the magic of winter with friends and faculty families!
Family Winter Week (February 10-13)
The annual LAS Family Winter Week will bring together students, staff, and families from around the world to celebrate our international community. This event allows parents to meet their child’s teachers and visit campus at this fantastic time of year. We can’t wait to welcome families back to Leysin in 2025.
Cultural Trips
Next semester will feature exciting cultural trips, allowing students to explore beyond Leysin. From visits to historical sites to cultural exchanges in nearby cities, these experiences will deepen students’ understanding of different countries worldwide. Whether it’s a trip within Switzerland or an adventure further afield, there’s no shortage of exciting adventures to look forward to!
Zimbabwe Service Trip
Students who want to make an impact can participate in a service trip next semester. Following the success of last year’s Zimbabwe Service Trip, which has been running for over a decade, LAS continues to offer opportunities for students to engage in service projects that promote global awareness, empathy, and community support. These trips allow students to give back while learning about different cultures.
LAS IB Art Exhibition and Legally Blonde
For students who appreciate the arts, the LAS IB Art Exhibition will once again showcase our students' incredible talent and creativity. This exhibition celebrates months of hard work, artistic growth, and expression. In addition, our student production of Legally Blonde the Musical will be performed in February. We can’t wait to see our incredible student talent!
Cowbell Games: Athletic Triumphs and Team Spirit
The LAS Cowbell Games will return next semester, bringing together students in a week-long schedule of teamwork and fun activities. Whether participating in events or cheering others on, students will experience the excitement that makes the Cowbell Games such a great tradition at LAS!
Prom
As next semester ends, students can look forward to Prom—a glamorous evening of celebration! This unforgettable night will unite students to celebrate their achievements, friendships, and memories while dressing to impress!
Next semester will combine adventure, creativity, culture, and connection. Whether students are skiing down the slopes, showcasing their artistic talents, or giving back through service, there's something for everyone at LAS!
