Returning for the Magic of the Mountain: Alumni Ski Weekend 2026

Earlier this month, LAS alumni from across the globe returned to Leysin for our third annual Alumni Ski Weekend, one of the most anticipated highlights of our calendar. It was wonderful to reunite generations of LAS graduates and hear how their time on the mountain shaped their lives. For many, this was their first visit since graduation—a wonderful opportunity to share memories, reconnect with old friends, shoosh down the pistes, and enjoy the magic of our mountain once again.

The fresh snowfall, brilliant sunshine, and seeing so many familiar faces happily strolling on campus made for a truly special atmosphere. Everyone was so excited to see each other, and from the very start of the weekend it was clear that the bonds within the LAS Global Family remain incredibly strong.

Reconnecting, Skiing, and Enjoying Traditional Swiss Fare
The festivities kicked off with a Welcome Apéro hosted by the Ott family, bringing together over 50 alumni and local former faculty. It was a joyful evening of laughter and storytelling that set the perfect tone for the days ahead.

On Saturday, the morning began with a coffee meetup at Horizonte Café, where old friends caught up and new connections were forged. Afterwards, the alumni spent the afternoon skiing together, recreating their favorite runs on Leysin’s iconic pistes.

As the sun began to set, the group gathered for a stunning torchlight descent. Lighting up the mountainside, alumni made their way down the runs in a glowing procession—a powerful symbol of the lasting bond shared by our community.

The evening continued with a traditional Swiss dinner at La Fromagerie, where everyone enjoyed traditional specialties such as cheese fondue and raclette, and wines from local vineyards.

Looking Ahead
On Sunday morning, the weekend concluded with a farewell breakfast at La Farandole. Over coffee and pastries, alumni reflected on the weekend's highlights and wrote custom LAS postcards to friends and classmates who couldn't make it this year. We hope the "Wish you were here!" messages inspire even more of our Global Family to join us next season!

The Alumni Ski Weekend proved once again that the LAS Global Family remains connected no matter the distance. We were so pleased to welcome everyone back to their home on Magic Mountain, and we are already counting down the days until next year!
