LAS Ski Team: Setting Goals, Achieving Excellence, and Building Team Spirit
Here at LAS, we have a incredibly varied ski program that enables students to develop their skills on the mountain and foster deeper connections with their peers. Over the course of the year, students really develop their skills and take part in a rigorous lesson program. For students at an advanced level, the option to join specialized teams and engage in competitive events is available, and many students level up their skills as a result!
Students who are passionate about skiing and snowboarding can participate competitively in our ski racing team. The LAS ski team has helped some world-class skiers develop, and as we kick off 2024, our students are already achieving remarkable results. The team consists of a diverse group of new and returning students, some of whom have come to us with a ski racing background and others who are making their debut as ski racers here in the Alps.
In January, team members were present at four events, and among the standout performers were two new grade 8 students, Sophie and William, who were flying down the slopes in their distinctive red and black gear, bringing home well-deserved medals for LAS!
LAS brought home medals at the Crans Montana Invitation GS, Wengen WISSR Invitational, and SGIS Senior Championships in Villars! During these events, students took part in the Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G races and really enjoyed competing on the slopes!
The LAS ski team welcomes students at different skill levels, ranging from newcomers to seasoned athletes and elite racers. By encouraging members to set ambitious goals and strive for personal excellence, our sports program helps students develop essential values such as diligence, resilience, and the importance of collaborative teamwork!
