LAS Climbers Reach New Heights at the 4th Annual LAS Climbing Competition

The fourth annual LAS Climbing Competition brought incredible energy to the Magic Mountain Athletic Center, as 40 competitors from five schools took on a freshly reset climbing wall designed to challenge every athlete equally. With new routes and an enthusiastic crowd, the event was the perfect showcase of the growing strength and passion within our LAS climbing community!

LAS athletes delivered an outstanding performance across all age categories. In the U18 division, LAS swept the top two spots: with his characteristic technical precision, Antonio ‘26 conquered three highly difficult 6C routes, all on his first attempt, earning him first place. He even came within a single move of completing one of the wall’s most difficult climbs which was a thrilling moment for the whole crowd to witness. Rustan ‘27 powered his way into second place in an exceptionally competitive field that represented six schools.

In the U16 category, Thomas ‘27 climbed with smooth, efficient control to take 1st place against ten other competitors. Meanwhile, in U14, Shawn ‘29 impressed everyone by earning 2nd place in his first-ever competition, showcasing remarkable natural talent after discovering his passion for climbing only this year.

Beyond the podium results, the day fostered a powerful sense of community. Students from across the region connected through friendly competition, shared passion, and mutual encouragement. Events like this truly highlight the breadth and quality of the athletic opportunities available here on our Magic Mountain. Whether students are climbing in the MMAC, paddling on Lake Geneva, playing football with rival schools, or skiing world-class slopes, LAS offers endless possibilities for every student to discover an activity they love.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, and the continued growth of participation and the success of our LAS athletes. We couldn’t be more proud of our climbers and we can’t wait to see how high they’ll go next!
