LAS hosted the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS) volleyball tournament this weekend and wow did our team make us proud! Our girls’ volleyball team went up against 13 other school teams, all competing for the title of the best international school team in all of Switzerland! And, drumroll please… our team won!
Not only did our students play brilliantly, showing excellent leadership, perseverance, and sportsmanship, but they went undefeated! The final match against the International School of Basel (ISB) was neck-and-neck and ended up going to a decisive third set, but LAS ultimately came out victorious.
Congratulations to the team and, of course, to coaches Swope, Rendle, and Gidding! We couldn’t be more proud!
What’s up next in athletics at LAS? This weekend LAS will host another SGIS tournament, this time for boys’ basketball. Our girls’ volleyball team plays again this weekend against Aiglon, and there are boys’ and girls’ football matches as well as a tennis match next week. We’re excited to cheer on more LAS Goats as the fall athletic season continues!
