As we have welcomed new and returning students to campus this week, our student leaders have fostered a welcoming, supportive, and positive environment. LAS students embrace the opportunity to take on formal leadership roles, such as prefects, ambassadors, senior proctors, dorm representatives, Student Council, Honor Council, and participants in the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award program, among others. They are already committed to developing a wide range of skills, forming new friendships, and making a meaningful impact on our community. Their dedication will lead to exciting projects and initiatives this year, and we look forward to seeing all they achieve!
The LAS Leadership Program provides students with a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experiential leadership skills while working closely with the community. Regular meetings and a dedicated team ensure that these leaders are well-prepared to achieve their aims and meet their responsibilities. The skills they develop will allow students to use their new skills long after graduation!
In addition, leadership at LAS is not just about these official roles. A wide variety of leadership opportunities are available to all students, offering many ways to get involved and develop new skills! Whether through dorm work, academic participation, student council, team leadership, or service projects, students can find their interests and contribute to the school community! Students who organize clubs, athletic teams, and events also gain valuable experience, which will help them develop their professional and general life skills.
Our leadership program aims to develop self-motivated young adults who are capable of pushing change within the LAS community and into the future! With a diverse array of opportunities available, every student has the chance to develop their skills, discover their leadership potential, and make a difference! We hope that all students, whether in official roles or not, will take advantage of these opportunities and act as role models throughout the school.
