Congratulations, Class of 2024!

The Class of 2024 had an amazing graduation ceremony at the weekend. This bittersweet day was filled with celebration, laughter, and memories. We can’t wait to see what our students achieve in the future, and we hope to see them at our Global Family events across the world!

The weekend began with a reception at the Fromagerie in Leysin Village. This wine and cheese event allowed guests to learn about the rich history of one of Leysin’s most iconic restaurants. The event was perfect for mingling, and attendees had the chance to connect with students, faculty, and other families. The reception set a welcoming tone for the weekend, reflecting the warmth of the LAS community whilst also providing an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better!

The sun was shining on graduation day this year, and our students wore their distinctive red graduation gowns and caps. We loved celebrating their achievements alongside their friends and family, who traveled to Leysin from all over the world. Graduating high school is such a big milestone, and our students should be so proud of everything they have accomplished along the way. We hope they also take comfort in knowing that they will always have a home in Leysin, and they will join a community of thousands of LAS Alumni. Wherever they go, they're never too far from someone who has had a shared experience of the Magic Mountain.

The ceremony included opening words by the beloved Jamie Skove, beautiful singing from our staff and student choir, the Senior Awards presentation, and so much more! One element of the ceremony was the Commencement Address, by alumni Dr. Cho-Hee Shrader ‘07, who shared a message of respect, connectivity, and community. Intertwined between speeches, each student had the opportunity to walk across the stage and celebrate their achievements. The following students won awards:

  • Sigrid & Fred Ott Founders Award: Paulina
  • Faculty Award for Innovation: Minoo
  • Maurizio Fabbri Award for Compassion: Pavlo
  • Award for Responsibility: Kirill
  • ECIS Award for International Understanding: Maria
  • Doris & Steven Ott Award for Excellence: Jack
  • Salutatorian: Adlyn
  • Valedictorian: Paulina

It was such a happy day for our students, and we were pleased to share it with so many families and friends in our community!

Following the graduation ceremony in the picturesque church at Feydey, our entire LAS community enjoyed a food and drinks reception at the Belle Époque campus. Graduates collected their diplomas, cap-and-gown photos, and the Leysin Mayor’s Ambassador certificate. Students also had the opportunity to collect professional photographer photos! This reception was an excellent way for students to share their achievements with everyone in the community and celebrate their time at LAS with their families, teachers, and friends around them.

We wish our graduating Class of 2024 all the best for the future; we can’t wait to see all that you achieve! Although we are sad to see you go, we are also excited to see you at our alumni events in the future! Please keep in touch with the Advancement team at advancement@las.ch and check out our events page. Good luck!
