Celebrating the Arts at LAS

Last week we were lucky enough to witness outstanding performances from our talented students at the annual Winter Arts Celebration. At LAS, we provide a rich and supportive arts program for students of all interests and backgrounds and encourage everyone to get involved! The arts are an essential aspect of the curriculum at LAS, and exploring these avenues can open up a world of possibilities in which students can think outside the box and express themselves in a gratifying way. We believe that by providing students with a wealth of opportunities, we can allow them to reach their artistic potential in a safe and uplifting environment.

At our Winter Arts Celebration, students showed audience members a variety of musical and theater performances from numerous genres and periods. We heard rock and roll hits like ‘The Passenger’ from 1970s band Iggy Pop & The Stooges and ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis, as well as modern classics like ‘Riptide’ by Vance Joy. Other impressive performances included a beautiful rendition of Carl Bohm’s ‘The Fountain,’ and ‘Creep’ by Radiohead.

We were also proud to present student performances from various cultures, including ‘Always Online’ by JJ Lin, a famous Singaporean singer and songwriter, and the Traditional Polish Theme ‘Zróldo’ by Jacek Kaczmarski. Other impressive performances included ‘Psycho Killer’ by Talking Heads, ‘Everlong’ by the Foo Fighters, and a theater production of ‘Waiting Room’ by the Savoy Theatre Class.

We look forward to hearing more student performances at our next arts event during Family Winter Week. Not to blow our own horn, but LAS has some incredibly talented students! Thank you to our incredible performers and everyone who supported them.
