Student Leaders: Looking Ahead to 2025–2026
At LAS, student leadership provides a chance for students to shape our school community in a positive way. As we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year, we’re excited to celebrate the students who have stepped forward, as well as the wide range of opportunities available for those who want to grow as leaders.
Each spring, students apply for leadership positions across the dorm and student life departments. This year, the process has been very competitive. With impressive applications and standout interviews, the selection committee faced some incredibly tough decisions—we have been so impressed by all the applicants.
Each year, students are selected for key residential life leadership roles:
- Senior Prefects—who help guide life in the dorms.
- Ambassadors—who play a crucial role in welcoming new students and representing LAS to families.
- Senior Proctors—who support the boarding community and act as role models in their dorms.
We also have a strong group of students currently campaigning for Student Council positions. The upcoming speeches next week will give our community a chance to hear directly from these potential leaders and vote for next year’s team.
While not every applicant can be selected for a formal role, leadership at LAS isn’t just about these positions. Some of the most impactful student leaders aren’t part of any official program. Whether students help run a club, organize a dorm event, or mentor younger students, there are plenty of additional opportunities to get involved!
Opportunities include:
- Becoming a team captain or club leader
- Joining SAFE or the BIG mentoring program
- Helping create the yearbook
- Volunteering at campus events
- Representing LAS as an Admissions Diplomat
Our leadership program aims to develop self-motivated young adults who are capable of guiding positive change within the LAS community and into the future! With a diverse array of opportunities available, every student has the chance to develop their skills, discover their leadership potential, and make a difference. We hope that all students, whether in official roles or not, will take advantage of these opportunities and act as role models throughout the school.
