Celebrating Excellence: LAS Students Achieve Top Scores in the IB Diploma

The IB Diploma is a rigorous program that challenges students to become the best, well-rounded versions of themselves. Our students embrace this challenging program, working diligently over the two years to develop a variety of skills in addition to their academic studies. We are incredibly proud of our recent 2024 graduates, who achieved outstanding results. We would like to take a moment to congratulate them for their hard work, dedication, and resilience.

The highest score students can earn in the IB Diploma is 45. We proudly announce that the highest score at LAS this year was the full 45 points. This incredible achievement is very exciting, and we are excited to see more results like this in the future. In addition, 100% of LAS students passed the IB Diploma this year, compared to the global pass rate of 80%. The World average IB score is 30.32; our LAS average was above this, at 34 points. Lastly, LAS students averaged 5.29 per exam (out of a maximum score of 7), while the worldwide average is 4.85. 

We are pleased to say that our students exceeded worldwide averages and graduated with exceptional results! This was down to their hard work and the expert guidance they received from our committed teaching staff. Their dedication and wealth of experience allowed our students to thrive in an encouraging and inquiring environment where they were supported academically and emotionally along this challenging journey. 

Experiential learning is a significant element of an LAS education and a process that supports students in their academic learning. From field trips and conferences to data collection and seminars, students have ample opportunity to learn from the world around them. Applying their studies to the real world enables students to not only perform well in exams but also see the real-life applications of what they are learning. This approach helps commit theories and ideas to memory, allowing students to carry their learning through their exams and into adulthood.
