Annual Terry Fox Run

LAS participation

On September 19th, the LAS community partook in the annual, non-competitive Terry Fox Run. This charity event is held in numerous countries worldwide with the goal to raise money for cancer research and in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox.

Terrance Stanley "Terry" Fox CC OD was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated due to cancer, he embarked on an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

All LAS students and faculty participated in a run throughout Leysin to show support for this great cause, and support for the many people we all personally know who have been affected by cancer.

In total, LAS raised over CHF 5000 for the Terry Fox foundation which will go directly to Childhood Cancer Research! We thank our students and staff for their donations and participation in this meaningful event- The LAS community is helping end the battle with cancer, one step at a time.
