An Evening with the Stars: Showcasing Artistic Talent at LAS

At LAS, we are dedicated to developing a vibrant and inclusive arts program that caters to students of diverse interests and backgrounds. The arts are an essential aspect of the curriculum at LAS, and exploring these avenues can open up a world of possibilities in which students can think outside the box and express themselves in a gratifying way. We believe that by providing students with a wealth of opportunities, we can allow them to reach their artistic potential in a safe and uplifting environment.

In a fantastic showcase last week, thirteen of our incredibly talented students took to the stage at our widely anticipated Evening with the Stars event. The performances were an amazing mix of contemporary hits, featuring iconic songs by Whitney Houston, One Direction, and Rihanna and more traditional and classical pieces by artists such as Franz Liszt. We were really pleased to see such a range of different styles, from spoken poetry to classical music, contemporary pop, and rock. Not to mention, lots of the songs were from different cultures, which was really fantastic to hear!

Well done to the following students for their amazing performances:

  • Harry ‘24: Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez
  • Nika ‘26: Stay by Rhianna
  • Ora ‘25: two poems, An Old Woman of the Roads by Padraic Colum, and an original poem The Innate River
  • Zen ‘25: Fool's Gold by One Direction
  • Ava ‘25 & Kei ‘26: Giants in the Sky from Into the Woods (our upcoming LAS musical!)
  • Star ‘24 & Yi ‘24: Boyfriend by Dove Cameron
  • Piotr ‘27 & Kuba ‘24: Wehikul Czasu by Dżem
  • Mia ‘24: I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston
  • Haley ‘24: If I Die Young by The Band Perry
  • Adlyn ‘24: Liebesträum No. 3 by Franz Liszt

The diversity of performances, from singing and piano playing to spoken poetry, captivated our audience and showcased the incredible talent our students have developed. We are really excited about future events where students can express and showcase their artistic talents, and we can’t wait to hear even more genres and styles. We are incredibly proud of our brave performers and the supportive audience, and we appreciate how much confidence it takes to get up on stage in front of peers!

We look forward to witnessing even more artistic excellence in our upcoming events!
