At Summer in Switzerland (SIS) at Leysin American School, summer isn’t just a season—it’s an adventure waiting for you! Each year, we welcome students from all over the world to experience learning, discovery, and friendship in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Here’s everything that makes a Summer in Switzerland an unforgettable experience!

While summer is all about having fun, we believe students have a lot to gain by learning during their summer break. Our summer program offers an exciting mix of academic courses designed to expand students’ minds while being engaging and interactive. Whether diving into the world of artificial intelligence, exploring environmental science, or learning a new language, SIS empowers students with the knowledge and skills they’ll carry with them for life.

Learning at LAS Summer extends far beyond the classroom. Students can participate in various clubs and activities, from team sports and robotics to hiking and visual arts. Whether baking in the kitchen, coding a new project, or exploring our fantastic Alpine trails, there’s something for everyone to explore!

Every weekend, our students set out on exciting adventures across Switzerland. These trips offer the perfect balance of culture, adventure, and discovery, ensuring students make the most of their time in Switzerland. Past excursions have included:

• Exploring the historic streets of Bern
• Having fun at BernAqua water park
• Exploring the beauty of Lake Annecy on a boat cruise
• Listening to the music of the Montreux Jazz Festival
• Visiting the UN headquarters in Geneva for a real-world MUN experience

One of the most incredible parts of Summer in Switzerland is the connections students make. With peers from all over the world, they learn about different cultures, languages, and perspectives—expanding their worldview in a life-changing way. From playing soccer on our rooftop pitch to sharing phrases in different languages during outdoor meals, our students leave SIS with friendships that last a lifetime.
