A Recap of Family Winter Week!

Here at LAS, we love hosting our Global Family on campus, as it allows us to connect with cultures from all over the world and show our community the magic of Switzerland. Last week we hosted Family Winter Week, an opportunity for families to look at the life of an LAS student and discover our stunning Alpine home. We had such a fantastic time getting to know you all; a big thank you to everyone who attended our celebration!

One of the fantastic things about Switzerland in winter is the plethora of skiing and snowboarding opportunities our students get to experience. Luckily, families were able to experience this themselves on our Winter Adventure Day at Glacier 3000 in Les Diablerets, as well as during our students' regular Thursday ski afternoon. Families also participated in an après-ski with the students, joining them for hot cocoa and snacks after a big day on the slopes. Skiing is a really significant part of our students’ lives here at LAS, so we were delighted that families could participate and experience how amazing our Swiss slopes are!

We were also proud to host academic events during the week such as parent-teacher conferences, student presentations at the TOK and Academic + Student Life exhibitions, and AP/IB presentations for families. We always love celebrating our students’ work, and we were excited to have the opportunity to show families the amazing courses and activities that we have to offer. We hope that families have gained greater insight into the academic side of their child’s LAS experience and see how much their children have achieved! Other activities such as the Parent Association Apéro, our music concert and art exhibition, the community forum and Ott Family reception, and Winter Soirée allowed us to show the magic of LAS and celebrate our student successes with our community. 

Having families join us on campus is such a privilege, and we always love connecting with people from all over the world. Thank you so much to everyone who attended our Family Winter Week celebrations; you are always welcome back on our Magic Mountain!
