Some summers are simply busy. Others are truly formative. Since 1949, LAS Summer in Switzerland has offered a magical summer experience on our campus in the Swiss Alps, surrounded by unparalleled beauty. This is where students from around the world come together in a safe and supportive alpine community to have the Summer of a Lifetime! 

Afternoons: Mastery and Discovery
Mornings are devoted to learning. What follows is where the summer becomes unforgettable. For each three-week session, students select one signature afternoon club and stay with it throughout the program: Team Sports, Cooking & Baking, Hiking & Climbing, Media Makers: Music, Photo and Video Production, Visual Arts, Tennis, or Robotics. Because they commit to a single pursuit, students develop genuine skill, confidence, and the satisfaction of real progress. 

Alongside their club, students choose a different afternoon activity each day, with enough variety that they need never repeat one. Past offerings have included Floor Hockey, Beach Volleyball, Ukulele Lessons, Painting & Drawing, Yoga, Hiking, Tie-dye, Football (Soccer), Ice Skating, Ping Pong, Horseback Riding, Dance, Padel...and so much more! Experiences like these are hard to replicate at home, and they often reveal talents and passions a student didn't know they had.

Evenings: Gathering and Connection
As the day cools, the campus turns social. Themed evenings range from spirited sports nights to relaxed gatherings, with campfires, karaoke, and games under the stars. Many events bring the entire program together, so students from different dorms and age groups form friendships that span continents. For a young person, an international network of peers is one of the most lasting gifts of a summer like this.

Fantastic Fridays: Something Extraordinary, Every Week
Every Friday afternoon is reserved for a unique and thrilling experience, set apart from the regular routine. Each week brings something new, such as surfing (yes, surfing in the Alps!), canyoning, paddleboarding, white water rafting, high ropes course, laser tag, and so much more! These experiences are often the ones students can't wait to share when they get home.

Exploring Our Beautiful Region on Weekend Trips
Our beautiful and safe campus in Switzerland offers easy access to majestic Alpine peaks, renowned museums, and the cultural treasures of neighboring France and Italy. Weekend day trips take students to Lucerne, Bern, Zermatt, Annecy, and Chamonix. Our new, optional program—Overnight European Adventures—takes students on weekend excursions to exciting and iconic destinations such as Côte d’Azur, Paris, Salzburg, Milan, Europa Park, and the Italian Lakes! 

All of this together adds up to a summer of independence, friendship, and perspective, and a place among a truly welcoming global community in one of the most beautiful—and safe—places in the world.
