Directions to LAS
Arriving by plane / train
The two main airports are Zürich and Geneva. Upon arrival at either airport, take the train to Leysin; both airports have train stations within their complexes. The trip from Zurich airport will take between 3 1/2 to 4 hours and from Geneva to Leysin approximately 2 hours.
- After passing through customs, follow the main sign to the railway station.
- Purchase a one-way ticket to Leysin. The clerks speak French, English and German.
- If coming from Zurich, it may be necessary to change in Bern (if it is not an intercity). It is necessary to change in Lausanne and then take the train direction Sion, Sierre getting off in Aigle.
- If coming from Geneva airport with an intercity train it is not necessary to change trains in Lausanne (if it is not an intercity, please ask at the counter when purchasing the ticket). Get off the train in Aigle.
- At the Aigle train station look for a small brown and beige train on the right-hand side, marked "A-L" (Aigle-Leysin), which will bring you to Leysin.
- In Leysin, there are 3 stops. Please get off the train at Vermont station (2nd stop).
- Walk up the road about 5 minutes to where you will see the “visitor’s center” sign on the right.
Arriving by car
- From Geneva direction: Take the main highway from Geneva in the direction Lausanne, then Simplon / Gd.St. Bernard and exit at AIGLE.
- From Italy direction: Take the Gd. St. Bernard pass and travel through the canton of Valais in direction to Aigle.
- Continue on through Aigle and follow the signs indicating Leysin (approximately 20-25 minutes to Leysin).
- Once in Leysin, follow the main road round the bends, go around and to the left at the roundabout in front of post office.
- Continue uphill past the Pharmacy and Sports Shop and under the small bridge. Approximately 300 meters after this point turn right into the small cobble stone road. A “visitor’s center” sign is posted on the main road.
