Power School
PowerSchool is perhaps the school’s most commonly used software item. It is an invaluable resource that keeps track of student grading, attendance, and schedules. PowerSchool integrates each student’s academic information into one easily accessible package.
Every student is provided a personal PowerSchool access code, and every parent receives his or her own secure access to PowerSchool independent of their son or daughter. Through web access, parents can check daily attendance, constantly updated grades, and teacher comments regarding their child. Parents can receive regular email updates using PowerSchool, and can also contact teachers directly through PowerSchool. Moreover, the LAS Daily Bulletin is published through PowerSchool and is available to parents and students alike.
Student Info
Student info is a powerful technological program. It allows parents to monitor their son or daughter’s disciplinary log, frequency and reason for Health Center visits, financial transactions (including personal and tuition accounts), and travel information. Using Student Info, parents can update contact information to assure correct delivery of school mailings and read monthly summaries of their child’s activities. In short, Student Info provides a depiction of student life beyond academics, and with PowerSchool, gives parents a clear and accurate depiction of the academic and personal activities of their children.
Computer Usage
Computer use is encouraged for academic pursuits and as a means of communication with distant friends and family. However, computer usage is neither acceptable after lights out curfews nor if used for non-academic work (videos, video gaming, chatting etc. ) during study hall times or class time.
Students are to observe respectable usage policies and are forbidden to use technology as a means to speak inappropriately, discriminate, harass or bully students, spread inappropriate messages or images, or damage machines and networks by spreading viruses.
Students who are found deliberately attempting to hack or damage computers, system settings, or networks may face expulsion. Our school is heavily dependent on technology and attempted vandalism will not be tolerated.
