50th Anniversary Celebrations

2010-2011

LAS will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a number of exciting events throughout the 2010-2011 school year.

Official Opening of the Belle Époque
6 October 2010

The official opening of the historic Belle Époque will commence a series of celebratory events marking the 50th Anniversary of the Leysin American School. Events will include:

  • 'Thank You' service at the Feyday Church to celebrate the long-standing relationship between the Church and the Grand Hotel
  • Parade to Belle Époque led by local band and alipine horns
  • Ribbon cutting ceremony by Steven and Sigrid Ott
  • Speech by the Mayor
  • Open house and afternoon tea
  • Tours of the newly renovated historic building

This event is open to the local community.

50th Anniversary Gala Dinner
7 October 2010

This formal dinner will celebrate 50 years of distinctive education at LAS. Hosted in the Grand Salle Ballroom, Former President of Switzerland, Pascal Couchepin, will be a guest speaker. The event is open to parents, alumni and friends of the School. Formal National Dress encouraged.

An Alumni Weekend isalso scheduled in Leysin on the 25-27 March 2011. Early bookings willbe necessary to secure your accommodation in the village.
