Goats Win Big at SGIS Alpine Ski Championships

Members of the LAS Alpine Ski Team cleaned up at the SGIS Championships on Sunday, Jan. 31 in Villars, Switzerland. Two giant slalom runs were combined to place skiers in individual and team rankings. Swanee Messerli won gold in the Senior Girls category and was the overall fastest girl, edging out teammate Christelle Giobellina, defending champion in the Senior Girls who took the silver medal this year. Markus Kupfer took gold in the Boys Senior category, and our category B boys, led by Yoshi Sugiyama, earned bronze medals. Yoshi placed 8th in a very competitive and deep field of Category B boys.
