After School

Extracurricular activities round out the LAS lifestyle.

Thanks to our campus's wonderful location and cutting edge facilities, we are able to offer our students a variety of exciting after school athletics and activities to choose from.

Students interested in athletics can take part in soccer, swimming, tennis, mountain biking, skiing, and more right outside our front door. Artistically inclined students may choose to participate in the school play or musical, learn to play an instrument, or try out new mediums in an art activity. Other activity options include Student Council, Human Rights Club, and National Honor Society.

During the Winter months, LAS students participate in an after-school activities program that primarily centers around the outdoors and snow sports. Alongside this are other activity offerings that allow students to develop other skills too!

Students who participate in the winter ski program get to ski or snowboard after lunch every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as enjoy regular trips to world-class resorts such as Zermatt, Verbier, Saas-Fee. One of the best ways to appreciate the grandeur of LAS’s alpine location is through our ski program, and Leysin is a well-recognized ski resort with over 60 kilometers of pistes to discover. Students are given the opportunity to acquaint themselves with our mountain both through a ski program that runs throughout the winter semester, and through our competitive ski team. Whether skiing recreationally or competitively, however, our ski programs both allow students to learn a new skill and experience the very best of Switzerland’s alpine environment.

While the availability of certain activities may change, we always have an incredibly wide range of activities for students to choose from. Click the tiles to find out more!

LAS students participate in an after-school activities program that provides opportunities for leadership experience, skill development, and community service. Students select a minimum of two activities each term; students on sports teams fulfill these requirements by attending two weekly practices, but they have the option to take part in additional activities.
